We appreciate the hard work of our colleagues at TMA Global, as well as local TMA chapters and TMA NOW committees. We have had a wonderful time co-chairing such a powerful committee, and while this year threw a couple of unexpected curveballs, we were still able to incorporate education and networking into all of our programs. We're confident that the 2021 TMA NOW Summit will be the best one yet. All reasons why at TMA, and TMA NOW, we are #BetterTogether.

TMA is committed to increasing diversity among members, among speakers at events, and among webinar panelists. The best--and arguably only--way to do this is by ensuring that the Board that is leading TMA's efforts is as diverse as the membership we are trying to build. On Thursday, June 4, the TMA Southern California Chapter hosted a  TMA NOW  Virtual Business Development Happy Hour:  "What Should You Be Doing During this Pandemic to Help You Build Business and Your Battalion?"  with featured speaker  Monica Blacker, Founder, BAX Advisors , LLC .

With close to 70 registered attendees , this event was a huge success! Throughout this webinar, there was a lot of participation and interaction with many great ideas about how people are navigating business development during these difficult times.

Suggestions Included:

"We had a very good number of men at our event. I think the fact that this was virtual made men more comfortable to join. Business development is a topic for everyone, and I think it is great having men and women working through business development issues together.

Midway through the event, we changed the view so that participants and speakers could see each other. I think the human contact component is missing during COVID-19, and it makes us crave seeing our friends and others." -- Sharon Kopman, TMA Southern California, Oak Point Partners
