From Potential to Power: Transforming Leaders in the Workplace

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR CORRECTIONS

In August, TMG closed out its fourth Leadership Development Program (LDP) with 24 leaders in an adult correctional agency. The program model includes a blended learning approach with virtual workshops, one-on-one coaching, a leadership assessment tool, and in-person group sessions.

Workshop topics included change management, workforce dynamics and generational differences, building a leadership legacy, organizational trauma, and traits of inclusive leadership. Our faculty included Hope Cooper, Tony Booker, Matt Rivera, Patti Lund, and Margaret Gilbert. Unique to the program is the opportunity to pair correctional leaders from around the country with the LDP program participants to exchange ideas and experiences, spark innovation, and learn.

Congratulations to our 2024 LDP graduates for their time and commitment to their professional development – and a special thank you to our team of esteemed coaches and workshop presenters.

Navigating the Complexities Together:

BJA Training Director's Roundtable

As part of our BJA training project, TMG facilitated a Training Director’s Roundtable in Aurora, Colorado, on Sept 12, 2024. Participants included Training Directors from seven states: Arizona, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Texas, Michigan, and Washington.

The day allowed for collaboration and discussion on the opportunities and challenges that correctional training administrators are facing. The roundtable explored resources available through National Institute of Correctional (NIC) and developed action plans to implement the newly released Guiding Principles for Effective Correctional Training.

TMG wrapped up our virtual PREA Investigations Training sessions for the year. We trained audiences in juvenile settings, adult prisons, and jails this year.

Our training team covers key topics that support the requirements under the PREA specialized investigations training standard and incorporates best practices, case law examples, scenarios, and hands-on learning.

Topics include trauma-informed interviewing, interrogation techniques, evidence collection, proper use of Mirand and Garrity, report writing, substantiating cases, the role of prosecutors and SANE nurses in the process, and more!

Stay tuned!
