Team Marine Parents Recap

We are excited to announce that 38 of our Team Marine Parents (TMP) runners participated in the 43rd Marine Corps Marathon and MCM10K on Sunday, October 28, 2018. We are extremely grateful for the hard work and dedication put forth by each and every one of them. These runners trained all year long in addition to fundraising and spreading awareness of the organization. Together, TMP runners raised almost $26,000.00 for the outreach programs of MarineParents.com, Inc. so far in 2018.

In addition to fundraising and spreading awareness of Marine Parents, our runners ran in honor of 11 fallen service members. Each runner wore a ribbon with a fallen hero's name and photo on it and attached it to their bibs with a battle cross lapel pin. Thank you, TMP runners, for honoring Gold Star family members.

Military Family Month

As a result of the difficulties faced by military families, the Armed Services YMCA established Military Family Month in 1996 as a way to honor and recognize the sacrifices military families make, as well as to show our nation's support of, and appreciation for, these sacrifices. Each year since, the President of the United States has signed a proclamation declaring November as Military Family Month.

Team Marine Parents Participant
Emily Krause

Emily Krause has been a runner for a long time and believed it felt natural to support MarineParents through TMP. Emily participated in the American Discovery Trail Race Marathon in Colorado back in September of 2018.

American Flag Etiquette

The American Flag is an important symbol for our country and represents the unity of America, our common cause, and the hope for a better tomorrow. The Flag Code formalizes the way in which we should respect the flag.

Marine Corps Weapon Systems: MK19

The MK19, also known as the "Mark 19," is a highly effective weapon when effective suppressive fire support is needed. It is capable of wiping out light armored vehicles and protecting supply convoys. The MK19 provides Marine infantry battalions with the means to deliver massive direct fire or indirect fire from hidden positions.
