MESSAGE FROM TMS PRESIDENT SHARON J. MERCHANT

At The Merchant Strategy, we work with clients from various industry sectors and recognize the importance of staying up to date with pending and approved legislation in Florida. As a Former State Representative, it is important for me to understand the implications of new laws and amendments to existing ones to ensure that we can help our clients navigate changes effectively. Keeping abreast of these developments, we can help our clients anticipate potential impacts on their businesses and develop strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities. Whether working with large or small businesses, we prioritize staying informed about the ever-changing landscape to provide the best possible service to our clients.

Below you will find a link to the Florida Senate President’s webpage that provides a complete list of recently approved and pending legislation from the State of Florida Legislature. https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/27

WORKING WITH PARSONS TO IMPROVE TRANSPORTATION

The Merchant Strategy, Inc., is pleased to be working with Parsons Transportation Group, Inc., on several projects. Two projects require public outreach services for road design projects including Project Kickoff Notices, logistics for community meetings and public meetings, invitations for the meetings and other collateral materials, meeting attendance, and newsletters. For two other projects, we are developing stakeholder surveys for public transportation. We will analyze the survey results, and prepare reports based on the findings to help guide improved customer service.

Parsons helps communities around the world move people and goods safely and efficiently. As leaders in integrated design and delivery and experts in the digital enablement of traditional transportation infrastructure, they combine new technologies – like cloud-based intelligent transportation solutions – with legacy infrastructure, to improve traffic efficiency, enhance safety, reduce emissions, and maximize our client’s investment.

ATOM POWER

TMS is happy to introduce our client Atom Power, Inc. (ATOM). We will be introducing ATOM to businesses, cities, hotels, and any project needing to efficiently and safely charge multiple vehicles at once without incurring peak rate charges. ATOM is an American-owned company founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Charlotte, NC. Their fully integrated and optimized platform, based on the first and only UL-listed digital circuit breaker (Core IP), does not have any direct competitors capable of offering a comparable technology, integrated architecture, and deployment approach.  ATOM is safe because it is not energized when EV is not connected and/or not charging. It shuts down electrical flows 3,000x faster than any other available technology. Call Sharon if you want more information.

WHERE HAS SAMMIE BEEN?

Sammie’s working on a trip to Mars, but he’s still waiting on Sharon to approve his travel; until further notice, the Martians will have to wait. Sammie recently attended the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches where he heard from two-time United States Attorney General William Barr (Bush, Sr., and Trump Administration). Mr. Barr shared his experience working his way up to the top and how he came to be the top law enforcement official in the country. Mr. Barr also shared fondly his experience working in the CIA in the legal department and his initial encounter with President George Bush, Sr, then Director of the CIA, and how their friendship came to be.

Sammie was also a panelist on Environmental Health, Equality, and Justice Panel with Florida Atlantic University’s Wilkes Honors College, hosted by the Environmental and Social Change Club.

He shared his expertise in community outreach and the art of building intentional and purposeful relationships and community partnerships between local government, non-profit organizations, and private businesses and entities. Other panelists included Dr. Georgia Chistakis, MD, MPH, Harvard Public Health Expert, and Benjamin Delin, Resilience and Sustainability Analyst at Palm Beach County Office of Resilience.

SALLY SAYS, BY SALLY MERCHANT

My job is never done. We dropped off Uncle Jim at Brightline and picked up Miss Colleen the same day. Guarding humans at home, in the car, and in the office is challenging even for an experienced gal like me. You have to recognize all potential enemies… the innocent-looking guy mowing the golf course, the sweet-looking lady who wants to stick her arm into the car to pet me, and the people walking past my office. They don’t fool me because I don’t give them a chance. I make sure they know that I know if you know what I mean. Mom says April is Earth Month. Normally I am very selective, but I will try to pee everywhere to do my part. I am glad veterinarians don’t get a month. Never is soon enough! Aunt Cheryl finally came back to the office. She says a giant bunny came to see her grandchildren at Easter time. I bet he tastes good! The little bunnies are too fast.

That’s all for now.

TMS Chief of Security
