Dear TMS Families,
It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for me to be sending you this letter but the 2025-26 school year will begin in just over a month, I want to bring you up to date about summer happenings, including staffing changes, and to draw your attention to the important information contained in the links below. I am also looking forward to the first day of school on Wednesday, September 3rd and to seeing all of you at the Ice Cream Social after school on Friday, September 5th!
The pace at TMS is considerably slower over the summer even with summer camp keeping the Community Room, Toddler classrooms, and outdoor spaces lively. That doesn’t mean nothing is happening and some of you may have already heard that there has been some staffing changes and additions next year. I am very excited to announce that I have hired Mary Kate McCoog as the reading specialist who will be working in conjunction with the Guides to provide extra reading support as needed. She is currently the Director of Student Services at St. Martin of Tours School and is very well credentialed. After several years of using a third-party accounting firm for our business operations, I decided to bring the position back in-house and have hired Matt Rodman as Business Manager. Matt holds an MBA from U. Conn. and brings a breadth of experience managing business operations. We look forward to introducing new staff and roles when all positions have been filled later this summer.
Please pay special attention to the Classroom Guidelines below and the 2025-2026 Family Handbook that outlines school policies, procedures and expectations for behavior which is posted in our Facts Family Portal and should be your first source of reference when you have a question or concern. There are very few changes from last year, but I would encourage you to familiarize yourself with school policies.
Please enjoy the last weeks of summer. We all look forward to seeing you soon!
Warm regards,
