President’s Note

BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!

I think we have been beware of so many things lately, the Ides of March is going to be a piece of cake! I certainly hope that things are going well for you, your students, and your loved ones. We have been reminded recently of how very serious this pandemic is by the loss of members of the TMTA family. Please be careful and continue to be vigilant for a while longer. We want to get all of us through this as best we can, and that will be by looking out for each other, and doing the simple things we know will protect ourselves, our families, and those around us.

I am so excited to send out the results from the 2021 MTNA Performance Competitions. You will be thrilled to see so many of our TMTA young performers listed as Winners, 2nd place, and 3rd place awardees. That’s a testament to the fine teaching in our state – we can match anyone from anywhere in the country! Please take time to congratulate these performers and their teachers.

Hope you can find some time to relax and reenergize over Spring Break. I know I need it, myself.

Be Safe, Be Healthy, and Be In Tune with TMTA.

Dr. Roy Wylie, NCTM
TMTA President

It was with great surprise and sadness that we learned of the recent death of TMTA Past President, June Leondar - another of our precious members lost to the pandemic. She was a mainstay of our organization before, during, and after her presidency. TMTA is the great organization it is today due to her wise council and vision, and we will miss her dearly.
