New York, NY -- Today, June 1st at 5:15pm, Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez will join Washington Heights community leaders and other elected officials at the ribbon cutting for the brand new Mark J. Kator Community Center at the Isabella Geriatric Center. Following over a year of construction, this new community center will house events, meetings and gatherings, and is expected to be an integral part of the neighborhood's social fabric. 

The renovation, made possible with funds from Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez and the City Council, has yielded a beautiful new space to support programming and more. Isabella Geriatric Center has hosted plays, celebrations, performances, community board meetings and more in this space prior to renovations and the new space is expected to enhance the programing offered.
