Chamber hosts virtual job fair!
Hey North Country employers,

Are you looking for employees to join your company? Here is your opportunity!

The North Country Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce that this year’s job fair will take place VIRTUALLY on Wednesday, November 18th from 2-4pm.

This year, the Chamber has partnered with BoothCentral whose platform will allow us to create a safe, virtual environment where employers and job seekers can connect face-to-face via video.

Just like our in-person event, this year’s virtual job fair will allow you to:

  • List open positions and gather resumes
  • Meet with applicants and conduct interviews
  • Display your products and network with other companies
  • Have your company name listed in event advertising materials

And best of all, you can do it from the comfort of your office or home with no special equipment or software needed; just a computer or smart device!

2021 Compensation Data Survey
Last year the North Country Chamber of Commerce conducted a Wage & Benefits survey. We are conducting the survey again this year to help you make human resource decisions for 2021. The survey questions are detailed and specific so that we can give you results that will be useful, but we have kept it as short as possible so that it is not too time consuming. Last year's participants told us that it took them about 30 minutes to complete. To save time and make the survey easier to complete, it has been redesigned so it can be completed online.
AEDC Wins Statewide Award
The Adirondack Economic Development Corporation was recognized for “Excellence in Performance” at the annual award ceremony of Empire State Development, a New York state agency.

The award acknowledges an organization for its high level of achievement of the state’s goals in business development and service through the ESD Entrepreneurship Assistance Program. Pravina Raghavan, ESD’s executive vice president for small business services and community economic development, announced the annual Entrepreneurship Assistance Centers of the year awards, in which AEDC was named.
Titus Mountain welcomes state announcement that ski centers can reopen - with restrictions!
The operators of the Titus Mountain Family Ski Center have been working “fervently” to prepare to reopen even as the COVID-19 virus continues to plague New York and the nation.

And now that Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has given the go-ahead for such a move, they said they are looking forward to the upcoming season.

Cuomo announced Monday that ski resorts could reopen beginning Friday, Nov. 6, with 50% indoor capacity and with strict health and safety protocols in place under state-issued guidance.

“We are excited to be given the opportunity to offer outdoor family recreation, and now we have the official guidance to be able to do so in a safe manner,” Monette said in a statement. “We have been fervently working to enhance safety measures and social distancing opportunities, such as brand new Skibanas, which offers private warming areas. We are looking forward to safely welcoming families back to the mountain and provide a healthy outdoor activity.”
