Rubén Esparza combines the skills of a multi-media artist and the insight of a gifted curator to synergize intensely cross-referential artworks. Queer AIDS tropes, phallocentrism, and bodily fluids become markers of LGBTQ+ culture from the early '90s to the contemporary Trumpian zeitgeist.

Hippie Dick! onto the world.
Hippie Dick! was a Xeroxed porn zine that sought to radicalize the tired label "hippie" by mythologizing it within the faerie scene.
Dirty Looks will reproduce
Hippie Dick! volume 1 for the first 100 attendees of the event, and Kelly Marie Martin (aka Keroscene), publisher of
thorn and executor of Barnes' estate, will give a multi-media presentation on the zine and its legacy in advance of a selection of screenings.

Susan Sontag's 1964 essay Notes on 'Camp' provides the framework for the exhibition, which examines how the elements of irony, humor, parody, pastiche, artifice, theatricality, and exaggeration are expressed in fashion.
