As the legislative session draws closer to its end, there's a lot of activity in the state capitol. With just a few more than 30 days remaining before Sine Die, lawmakers are working hard to address a range of priorities, with Election Integrity standing out as a top concern for many grassroots activists. Free and fair elections are the bedrock of any democratic society, and ensuring their integrity is crucial for upholding the public's trust in the democratic process.

As Chair of the Texas House Elections Committee, not many understand the stakes more than Rep. Reggie Smith. His committee is at the forefront of most of the critical election bills currently being discussed. We are fortunate that Chairman Smith has agreed to join us on Friday to discuss this pressing matter. His insights will be invaluable as we work together to address the challenges facing our democracy.

Two Years of Bidenflation

While families and small businesses are paying the price for Bidenflation, Biden and Democrats want to raise taxes and make Americans pay for their $6.9 trillion tax-and-spending spree. Prices continue to soar for everything from gas to groceries, yet Biden does not care.

What you need to know:

• For two straight years, Bidenflation has wiped out real wages and made American families poorer. 
• February's Consumer Price Index rose by 5% compared to last year. 
• Eggs are up 36%; 
• Airline fares are up 17.7%; 
• Bread is up 15.2%; 
• Dairy is up 10.7%;
• Electricity is up 10.2%;
• Groceries are up 8.4%;  
• Baby food is up 7.6%; 
• Poultry is up 7.5%; 
• Natural gas is up 5.5%.  
• Two years ago, Biden and his administration promised inflation would be "temporary."
• Yet, this marks the 24th month in a row under Biden in which inflation has outpaced wages.
• Real wages have fallen every month since Biden and Democrats passed their wasteful $1.9 trillion "stimulus."
• Even liberal economists blame Biden’s $1.9 trillion stimulus for fueling inflation.
• Bidenflation is costing families thousands of dollars. 
• The typical American family is spending roughly $372 more a month on the same goods and services as they were last year.
• Bidenflation is putting more and more Americans into financial jeopardy.
• 70% of Americans report feeling financially stressed.
• 58% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.
• 54% of Americans report using savings to pay for everyday expenses.
• Nearly 25 million Americans are behind on their credit cards, auto loans, or personal loans – a number not seen since 2009.
• The polls show it as well: 
• 68% of Americans describe the current state of the economy as poor/fair.
• 90% of Americans are "extremely" or "very" concerned about inflation.
• 72% of Americans believe economic conditions are getting worse.
• Just 31% of Americans approve of Biden's handing of the economy. 
• Half of Americans say their financial situation is worsening while only 38% of Americans approve of Biden's handling of inflation.
• Less than a third of Americans say Biden deserves reelection. 

The bottom line:

Inflation is up, wages are down, and Americans are struggling to stay afloat in Biden’s failed economy. Democrats have neither answers nor solutions – their policies only worsen the economic burden on families, yet Biden wants taxpayers to foot the bill for his $6.9 trillion tax-and-spending spree that will send inflation soaring even higher.”
