Pastor's Mid-Week Message

Dear friends of Faith,

Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and this year with it falling on a Sunday, there is a lot planned!

First, we will meet at the church at 10 a.m. to get ourselves organized to go caroling to West Oaks where Anne Finklea lives and then to Legacy Oaks where LaDelle MacDonald lives.  We will have some members of the choir to help us so don't worry if you are shy about singing.

Wear a Santa Hat, Jingle Bells, or your Rudolf nose and join us!  It will take us about  2 hours to make the whole journey.

When we return to the church, we can have some hot cocoa and help put together the blessing bags.   We understand if some of you need to break away at that point to meet family obligations.

At 7:30 p.m., we will gather again in our sanctuary for our annual service of candlelight and communion.  We will start with the lighting of the Advent Wreath for the Fourth Sunday of Advent and build up to the lighting of the Christ candle and the sharing of that light with each other and the world through the traditional candlelight service.

Rev. Enid Ross, Ben Masters, and Rev. Brian Ferguson will offer brief reflections on the lectionary texts for Christmas Eve.  We will share in communion as well.

I do hope that during this busy time, you will have a moment to stop, share the music of the season with those unable to travel in the morning and then celebrate the birth of Jesus, the light of the world, in the evening.

Parking Lot

We expect the parking lot work to begin at any time.  Due to weather variability we have been told we will not know more than 24 hours in advance when repaving will happen. Please observe all warning signs and barricades.

After school hours and on the weekend, we are welcome to park at Travis High School.  Please be patient with us as we do our best to keep you informed and be flexible with our contractor and Mother Nature.
