The Muslim Educational Trust would like to extend its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to Sister Patty Maazouz and Brother Mostafa Maazouz for the loss of their beloved daughter, Nabila Rahma Maazouz, who returned to Allah SWT last night, Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Nabila was a freshman student at Oregon Episcopal School. She attended Islamic School of MET and Oregon Islamic Academy for several years. She is generous, kind-hearted, hard-working, and a joy to be around. She is a beautiful soul of Allah and a wonderful youth role model, who will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Nabila was 14 years old.

May Allah, Ever Gracious, bless and accept our dear daughter, Nabila, into His mercy and grant her the highest ranking in paradise, and bless her parents and her family with every patience and strength, ameen.

Sister Patty and Brother Mostafa have been a beautiful part of our Portland community, and have contributed in many ways to the success and thriving of our community. Sister Patty serves as Chemistry Instructor and former Department Chair at PCC, and Brother Mostafa serves as an R&D Manager at Thermo Fisher. They have an older daughter, Sarah, who is currently a college student. May Allah SWT bless them all with strength and patience during this difficult time, ameen. Please keep Nabila and her family in your prayers.

Janazah/Funeral Prayer and Burial for Nabila will take place as follows:

Date: TOMORROW, Friday, November 22, 2019

Time: After Jumaa Prayer at 1:30 pm

Place: Masjid Lady Khadijah, Muslim Educational Trust

Burial will follow at the Islamic Cemetery of Oregon in Corvallis, 6815 SW West Hills Rd, Corvallis, Oregon 97333

May Allah SWT bless our dear Nabila and all our loved ones who passed on with  every mercy and forgiveness, ameen. And may He heal all our sick and relieve them of all hardship and pain, ameen.

We encourage everyone to attend Nabila's Janazah Prayer and burial as there is a great reward in doing so.  Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Whoever observes (witnesses/attends) the funeral proceedings until the prayer is performed, then [he gets rewarded] with one carat, and whoever observes (witnesses/attends) it thru burial, then he [gets rewarded] with two carats." Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was then asked, "And what is a Carat?" He replied, "It is the equivalent of two great mountains of Hasanaat (good deeds)." [Narrated by Muslim]
