What’s going on in our world?
Anxiety. Tension. Isolation. Frustration. Being unseen. Being unheard.
(Geneva Lutheran’s page), we will spend an hour in prayer, from 8 pm to 9 pm (or anytime you can find some time). You can lift up your prayers as well.
We are deeply connected to one another through the body of Christ, which has wounds and pains that are in need of healing. It takes the entire body working together to accomplish this and EVERY part has a role to play. None of us are detached from the things that are happening and none of us are detached from the web of causes.
Jesus said, ‘Why do you call me good, no one is good but God alone.’ This isn’t about good and bad it is about human pain and suffering. Our connecting point is right here. Look for the pain. Look for the sadness. Without judging it or dismissing it or moving past it, let it connect to our suffering and pain. And it will connect us to the body of Christ.
Holy and Mighty God, open us to see the pain and suffering in the world and to see that it is not separate from us. It is part of us. Just as you are part of us and we are part of you. We are part of each other. Wherever there are people, there is the body of Christ. Wherever we are, here is the body of Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
