2019 Tails of the Painted Cats
A Record Breaker!
Steve Staeger

Many thanks to everyone who supported the 2019 Tails of the Painted Cats event on Saturday, September 14th, at Pinehurst Country Club.  Our Gala Dinner and Auction was the biggest ever in money raised -- $184,262!

Channel 9 News anchor, Steve Staeger, emceed the event and was a wonderful advocate for the work of Cat Care Society, sharing many insights of his shelter visits throughout the evening, interspersed with stories about his own cats.
Doug Tisdale

The highlight of the evening was the live auction, conducted by the energetic and engaging Doug Tisdale.  Big sellers for the night were "Ivan," the snow leopard by artist Jane McFadden Dorsey and " Kyttendorf," the very creative piece inspired by Harry Potter and created by artist Claudia Roulier.  Every piece of art,  including sculptures, painting, photography, and pottery,  went home with a lucky top bidder in the silent auction.

The fun wrapped up with awards for most
whimsic a l cat, "Amelia Kittyheart," by Jane McFadden Dorsey; m ost creative, "Kyttendorf," by Claudia Roulier;  and overall fan favorite, "Moonlight Sonata," by Amanda Salazar.

Tails of the Painted Cats is a fundraising event held every other year. All proceeds support the work of Cat Care Society:  caring for abandoned, neglected, and abused cats and serving the people who love them.

Meet Larry David
Our Featured Cat

Larry David is a White with Brown Tabby, and is almost 4 years old. He was transferred to us from the Humane Society of South Platte Valley after his owners surrendered him for meowing too much. He loves to talk, but has learned that he doesn't have to vocalize all the time to get affection from humans. Larry is very sweet and playful,  but he does not like other cats and should be the only feline in the home. He has no medical issues and would be a great companion for the right person.

You can read more about Larry David here:
