Hello Collin County Dems!
As I approach my first 100 days as your County Chair, I want to take a moment to reflect on what we’ve accomplished together and more importantly, to look ahead at the tremendous opportunities and challenges before us. The work we’ve done so far building momentum, laying the groundwork, and reenergizing our party, has been significant. But let me be clear: this is just the beginning! Our mission is to elect more Democrats and to champion the Democratic values that we hold dear. To do that, we must be bold, strategic, and relentless.
We are already in the 2026 election cycle. Candidates are announcing their intentions to run, and we are building the leadership and infrastructure necessary to support them. While we will play a critical role in the upcoming municipal elections, our eyes are firmly set on 2026. Yes, we will spend the next 20 months fighting to protect the rights of disenfranchised communities from the overreach and tyranny of the Republican Party—both here in Texas and at the federal level. But the best way to fight back is to win. The best remedy to the challenges we face is to elect more Democrats.
So, how do we do that? Let me outline four key priorities:
1. Listen to the Voters
We cannot win if we don’t know what matters most to the people of Collin County. That’s why we’re launching a community survey next month to hear directly from residents about the issues that impact their lives. We’re also hosting our first “Resistance Roundtable” to engage with community leaders and activists to identify the most pressing concerns. This is how we build a platform that resonates with voters and shows them that we are here to fight for them.
2. Be Present in Every Community
Collin County is one of the most diverse counties in Texas, and we must be a party that reflects that diversity. Our newly launched Outreach Sub-Committee will ensure that we are actively engaging with every community—listening, learning, and building trust. We cannot take any vote for granted, and we cannot afford to leave any community behind. This is how we grow our coalition and show that the Democratic Party is the party of all people.
3. Recruit, Recruit, Recruit
We need candidates, precinct chairs, volunteers, and activists in every corner of this county. Collin County is the 6th largest county in Texas, the wealthiest in terms of median income, and the largest county that hasn’t yet turned blue. Why? It’s not because there aren’t enough voters who believe in Democratic values—it’s because we haven’t done enough to inspire them to vote for Democrats. Right now, we have 170 precincts without a precinct chair. That’s 170 opportunities to build our “army” of volunteers, activists, and leaders. We are creating data packets to identify winnable races in 2026, and I can tell you this: there are races we can win if we put in the work. But we need you to help us recruit the people who will make that happen.
4. Fundraise Like Our Future Depends on It
Let’s be honest: we cannot win without the resources to compete. Collin County is the wealthiest county in Texas, and we must tap into that potential. If every precinct chair recruits just three friends to donate $5 a month, we can increase our monthly sustaining donors by over 30%. That’s the power of collective action. I challenge each of you to take this seriously. We will be rolling out a program to track new monthly donors, and I expect every one of you to be part of this effort. Our ability to fundraise will determine our ability to fight—and win.
The daily news cycle can feel exhausting. The challenges we face can feel overwhelming. But let me remind you: we are not alone. Together, we can reach the nearly 800,000 voters in Collin County. Together, we can recruit more volunteers, find new donors, and engage communities that haven’t heard from us in years. Together, we can change the narrative that Collin County is a “deep red” county—because it’s not. We are a county of opportunity, diversity, and potential. And we are a county that can turn blue.
We’ve accomplished a lot in the last 100 days, but we have 600 days until early voting begins for the 2026 midterm elections. The hard work starts now. It starts with each of us in this room. It starts with the conversations we have, the relationships we build, and the commitment we show to this cause. 2024 may have been an unexpected detour, but 2026 is our chance to get back on track. Let’s make 2026 the year Collin County flips blue—not just for one election, but for good.
Thank you for your dedication, your energy, and your belief in this party. Now, let’s get to work.
Together, we will win!

JOIN US TO FIGHT BACK!
Congressman Keith Self (CD-3) is hosting a town hall, "Koffee with Keith,"
A GOP propaganda session designed to dodge accountability while Trump and Musk’s so-called "Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) dismantles federal agencies, seizes taxpayer funds, and hands Musk unchecked control over our government. This is unconstitutional, corrupt, and a direct attack on democracy.
Self and his MAGA allies won’t ask the hard questions—so we will! Judges are questioning the legality of DOGE’s actions, civil servants are resigning in protest—yet Trump and Musk continue their reckless, secretive dismantling of our public institutions.
📍 Where: Collin College Conference Center Wylie
📅 When: Saturday, March 1st
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
📍 Address: 391 Country Club Road, Wylie, TX 75098
We will hold Keith Self’s feet to the fire inside the event and protest outside to make sure he and his fellow MAGA extremists hear us loud and clear. This is our moment to take a stand. If we stay silent, they win. If we show up, we show them that democracy isn’t theirs to destroy.
Be there. Bring signs. Bring energy. Bring everyone you know. This is our fight, and we won’t back down!

Day 43: Food Fascism And The GOP’s War On Poor People’s Plates
Only yesterday morning, we discussed “Healthy Tomorrow for Texas.” By the afternoon, Lois Kolkhorst (R-SD18), joined by several other Republicans, held a press conference to discuss how they plan to make Texas healthy again. But, WOW, their press conference was totally unhinged. (See link for article)
(The Collin County Democratic Party is trying to add more state and local information to The Rally. Michelle H. Davis writes a Substack that offers in-depth coverage of the Texas Legislature. Her unapologetically Progressive point of view is uniquely Texan and refreshing. There is a free subscription option in the link below.)
