REQUESTS AN HOUR OF YOUR TIME

The Town Lakes Committee was awarded two Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources grants in 2018 to cover 75 percent of the costs associated with updating lake management plans for Found, Alma, Moon, Big St. Germain, Content and Fawn Lakes. Similar grants had previously been awarded for Lost and Little St. Germain Lakes.
These planning projects are now nearing completion, subject to pending State approval. A 28-minute YouTube video has been prepared by Brenton Butterfield, Aquatic Ecologist with Onterra, LLC, the lakes management consulting firm of choice by St. Germain lake organizations since 2004. The video provides a brief summary of the projects and is intended the pique the viewer's interest in learning more, especially about the management goals and action steps applicable to all St. Germain lakes as set forth in the plan.
Your viewing of the video, followed by your submitting a short, simple email as instructed in the video, will help the Committee achieve its in-kind contribution of time to offset some of the 25 percent local cost share of the project expenses. Yes, your viewing the video will help minimize the Committee's cash outlay for its portion of the project.
In summary, the Committee requests that you:
- View the video
- Follow the email instructions outlined in the video.
- Forward this email to other St. Germain waterfront property owners who might also be interested in watching the video and learning more about managing St. Germain's lakes.
Then, to satisfy your appetite for more information about these projects, the Committee encourages you to look through portions of the 128-page management plan, especially section 5, pages 110-121, which outline the goals and action steps lake organizations and Town Lakes Committee will be held accountable for accomplishing over the next few years. The plan is available for review on the Lakes Committee page of the Town Website.
