In this edition of the Monday Morning Messenger, the association is excited to share with members about an upcoming informational session on how to access all the ELDT resources made available specifically for the propane industry. Read more about it in our first story of the morning.

Also, in this edition, TPGA not only highlights a member discount on emergency response number services but additionally details where you can use that emergency response other than your shipping papers and bulk storages. TPGA also again highlights our upcoming 1st quarter TPGA Board & Committee Meetings that will take place in College Station next month as today, Monday, January 17, 2022, is the hotel deadline. Find quick access to the meeting schedule and hotel information below.

Speaking of meetings, the National Propane Gas Association is hosting a district meeting series for members this week. Members can log on online to take part in the meetings that include Texas. As a reminder, all of our TPGA full-service propane retail members are automatically NPGA members. Learn more details on this Wednesday's NPGA district 4 meeting below.

Lastly, the Propane Council of Texas is wrapping up the first year of its appliance rebate program and seeking feedback on it. Find out more about still submitting appliance rebates for 2021 purchases and how you can help in shaping the 2022 program if extended.

Propane Industry ELDT Informational Session:Sign Up Now
The new federal Entry-Level Driver Training (EDLT) requirement goes into effect in 3 weeks. As TPGA has previously reported, beginning February 7, 2022, all new CDL applicants and CDL holders applying for a new endorsement will be required to go through ELDT training before sitting at the state driver's license office for testing.
 
Don't miss the chance to get even more information than before as NPGA and PERC team up to provide an informative session on the new ELDT mandate and how they are working together to assist the industry with the new ELDT federally mandated training requirements.

Mark your calendars! Join PERC/NPGA on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 1 p.m. CDT/ 2 p.m. EST as they discuss the basic components of the new rules and walk through a step-by-step demonstration on how to access the tools and programming that will help your company meet these new regulations head-on.
Emergency Response Number
Use Guidance & TPGA Discount
For the past 18 years, the Texas Propane Gas Association has partnered with PERS to provide TPGA members with a discounted Emergency Telephone Number required by both state and federal governmental agencies.

Here is where you can use the PERS emergency response number once you enroll with PERS:
  • Hazardous materials shipping papers;
  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS);
  • Hazard Communication Labels;
  • Posting at registered facilities*;
  • Tier II chemical inventory forms for facilities
  • Approved specialty accounts

Join the National Propane Gas Association for their Member District meetings this week.

TX is in NPGA District 4 along with AR - CO - KS - MO - NM - OK.

The District 4 meeting will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 2:30 PM CST/3:30 PM ET.

AGENDA 
1. Call to Order - District Director 
2. Open Discussion on Regional / Local Issues

Members are invited to share with the group any legislative and regulatory challenges and opportunities confronting the industry in their state. This open dialogue forum allows others within the district to learn of neighboring issues as well as share ideas and potential solutions based on their experience.

Note: Attendees may not discuss topics concerning the price of propane in compliance with NPGA’s Antitrust Policy.

Do You Participate in Texas Appliance Rebate Program?
Whether you participate or not we want to hear from you!
The Texas Saves with Propane Appliance Rebate Program launched in April of 2021 and still accepting applications for 2021 purchases until February 4, 2022.

That said, in case the program gets extended for 2022, the Propane Council of Texas wants to hear from you so they can continually know whether to continue programs and make them better.
