FMCSA Email Scam Alert

This month, another scam email is impersonating the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and the email pretends to be from FMCSA.

Here's what to watch out for:

Asks for sensitive information: Don't fill out the attached forms requesting your Social Security Number (SSN) and USDOT PIN. FMCSA doesn't ask for this on official forms.

Threatens fines: This is a scam tactic. FMCSA doesn't threaten fines via email.
Fake email addresses: The email might appear to come from "safety@fmcsa.gov" or "filing@fmcsa.gov" - these are not legitimate FMCSA addresses.
Suspicious reply address: Replying might send your email to "@fmcsa-safety-fmcsa.com" - not an FMCSA domain.
Targets FMCSA accounts: The information requested could be used to access your FMCSA account.
Looks convincing: Be cautious - scammers can create realistic-looking emails.

How to Verify Real FMCSA Communication:

FMCSA Login: Real communication might ask you to log in to your official FMCSA portal account at FMCSA Login (dot.gov).
Dedicated Mailboxes: Legitimate emails may come from a dedicated FMCSA mailbox.
Verify with FMCSA: If unsure, contact your local FMCSA Division Office or use the FTC's email verification procedures.

Thursday, August 1, 2024, Annual Regulatory, Safety & Compliance Training: Waitlist Started

Here are the details on the ever-so-popular Thursday, August 1, 2024, Annual Regulatory, Safety & Compliance Training at Crossroads annually. The class is designed by TPGA and accredited by the Railroad Commission for Continuing Education (CEU).

For those of you who registered for this class, here's what to expect. The class is a package deal, and you must attend from 12 PM to 4 PM for credit. The class includes lunch.

Pre-registration is required for the Thursday Continuing Education Class as we are at capacity. We are starting a waiting list for interested parties in anticipation that some registrants might not make it. Email jmason@txpropane.com to be added to the waitlist.
