Last week, the Texas Propane Gas Association was fortunate to join the National Propane Gas Association and other state associations from across the country for Propane Days. Collectively, the associations conducted over 200 meetings on Capitol Hill.

The association aimed to meet with every office where a constituent of the propane industry was present. TPGA met with Senator Cruz, Congressman Chip Roy's office, Congressman Jodey Arrington's office, Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher's office, Congressman Lance Gooden's office, Congressman Tony Gonzales's office, Congressman Ronny Jackson's office, and Congressman Roger Williams's office.

August 1, 2024 Special Regulatory, Safety & Compliance CEU Course at TPGA Convention

Join the Texas Propane Gas Association (TPGA) as they collaborate with the Railroad Commission of Texas to offer a Continuing Education (CEU) course specifically designed for branch and operations managers, as well as personnel dealing with safety and compliance on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 12:00PM to 4:00 PM at the 2024 Crossroads Propane Expo & Conference.

This 4-hour CEU course will cover:

1. Essential RRC Updates: Receive the latest information from the Railroad Commission’s Alternative Fuels Safety Department.
2. NFPA 58 Changes: Explore critical updates as we transition to the new 2024 NFPA 58 and 54. During this segment, Christopher Wager, Vice President of Codes, Standards & Safety at the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA), will delve into key details of the new NFPA standards, including the newly introduced Chapter 16 dedicated to food trucks.
3. Hazmat Transportation: Casey Jones, a highly regarded Hazmat Specialist from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division of the Texas Department of Public Safety, will discuss common written violations and accident prevention strategies related to commercial motor vehicle hazmat incidents observed by highway patrol.
4. PHMSA Audits: The Pipeline Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) will share the latest insights from their Department of Transportation (DOT) audits at propane sites during this annual refresher.
