TPGA wants to call on Texas propane retail members to complete their sales of propane reports to PERC. Reporting is critical to help Texas get its fair share of funding from PERC every year. Learn more details in our third story of the morning.

Lastly, EPA has released details of the highly anticipated $5 billion nationwide Clean School Bus lottery. School districts do not need to be in a non-attainment area. EPA is targeting rural communities for this rebate.

Individuals can check their CE due date on their certification card to determine if they need to attend CE before May 31, 2022, or you can see all your employees' CE dates on this below-linked spreadsheet.

Help Texas Dollars Stay in Texas
To ensure Texas gets its fair share of PERC funding, please complete your Sales of Propane Survey from the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) for 2021 gallons.

Only 31 of 304 reports due for Texas have been completed so far.

With proper PERC funding, Texas would be able to continue a lot of our programs like:
  • Texas Saves with Propane Appliance Rebate Program
  • Duty to Warn Safety Mailing Program
  • Propane Living newsletter
  • Propane Builder newsletter
  • Consumer Safety Tip & Recipe Calendar
  • Propane Emergencies Training for Emergency Responders
  • And other programs and projects

Please go to and follow the on-screen instructions for completing the report by no later than May 31, 2022.
Individual company data is kept confidential and anonymous, and data is never disclosed to third parties outside of National PERC. This data is not shared with Texas representatives either. TPGA & ProCOT can only see who reported and who has not.

If you have any questions about the 2021 Annual Retail Propane Sales Report, please email or call the PERC office at (202) 452-8975.
EPA Clean School Bus Details: Rural Schools Will Be Given Priority
$5 billion is available for propane, natural gas, and electric school buses through the EPA’s Clean School Bus over the next five years. $500 million will be available for 2022, with half for propane and natural gas and the other half of the funds for electric school buses.
Schools district across the United States will be able to complete a very short application and apply for up to 25 school buses this rebate round by replacing 2010 or older diesel buses with newer, cleaner buses like propane.
Rebate Amounts
Rural district $25,000-$35,000 rebate per new propane bus
Non-rural district $15,000-$20,000 rebate per new propane bus.
Rebates will be awarded based on a lottery system, but priority will be given to rural districts, low-income school districts, and tribal schools. Districts will have six months from the award to submit their purchase orders to EPA.

Due to launch on April 27, 2022, the school bus rebate program will open later this May and will remain open for 3 months. TPGA and ProCOT will alert the industry once the program begins so they can reach out to their school districts.
