Dear TPS Family,
I hope this email finds you as well as possible and staying safe and healthy in these very uncertain times. The past few months have been a challenge to say the very least but our community's capacity to adapt and persevere has been incredible.
TPS has worked to build an online presence through new webinars, trainings, and our new program, TPS Tonight. We have engaged in important conversations and worked together to find solutions to support the new world that awaits us in a post-pandemic theatre scene. I'm excited by the prospect of things to come even if now feels like very dark of times. However, as the realities of the pandemic have unfolded and announcements of postponed or delayed seasons become more frequent, it becomes increasingly important to fortify ourselves in anticipation of our new reality.
Our partners at the Armory have been in regular communication with us about
a possible timeline to reopen. After evaluation of all options and careful consideration of health and safety guidelines, we do not feel it is safe to reopen at this time.
TPS has made the difficult decision to keep the studios closed through the remainder of 2020. We will move our general operations offline and beginning September 1st, our organization will enter a modified hibernation period during September, October, and November. This move will ensure the financial and structural stability to reopen safely and swiftly in 2021.
