SOCIAL EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING
|
We can do hard things!
This month is all about Perseverance. One way to think about Perseverance is “pushing yourself through challenges and obstacles.”
We all experience challenges in our lives. We all have moments when we feel like we can’t do it or that we want to give up on a big task. It is important to develop tools that help us work through those challenges in order to grow in those moments instead of giving up.
How might you practice Perseverance as a family this month?
| |
TALK IT OUT:
We have all demonstrated Perseverance in our lives. Many of us have seen people practice Perseverance in ways that have inspired us. Stories are powerful tools for connecting as a family. Protect time this week to share stories about Perseverance with each other (you can use the story prompts to get started).
At the end of the conversation, think of 1 way you can practice Perseverance this week.
Story Prompts:
● A time I (or someone else) showed Perseverance was _____.
● An act of Perseverance that changed/challenged me was _____.

2022 - 2023 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION DATES
MAKE A POSITIVE, LASTING IMPACT IN YOUR COMMUNITY.
Tangipahoa Parish School System is calling on all Tangi businesses to join our mission of having every child in our parish read on level by the third grade. Currently, only 46.1% of the students in our parish are considered on-level for literacy. Each day, TPSS strives to increase that number.
As a Partner in Literacy, you have the opportunity to provide resources, support, and encouragement to the students in our parish, making a difference in their lives.
If you are a business owner in Tangipahoa Parish and are interested in becoming a Partner in Literacy, fill out the form below and a team member will contact you soon.

Synonyms & Antonyms
Help to grow your child's vocabulary by discussing words which have similar, or opposite meanings.
You may be outside at the park, when your child exclaims, "look at that tall flower!" You can reply with "that is a giant flower." Then ask "is there another word for giant that you could use to describe the flower?" Extend the conversation by asking, "what is the opposite of something that is tall or giant?"
Want to kick up the challenge?
Here is a list of synonyms and antonyms to get your child's vocabulary on the move!

WE ARE TANGI
We all know the saying "it takes a village to raise a child." Our tangi community stands behind that ideal. We see so many wonderful ways that small business owners, local law enforcement, community churches, organizations, and friends give back to our schools. Your presence makes a positive impact, and the memories you help create will leave a lasting impression on our children. WE THANK YOU ❤
