Be Respectful. Be Compassionate. Be Great

There is Much to be Thankful For
On behalf of Tangipahoa Parish School System, we extend our deepest gratitude and respect to all of the veterans in our community. Your service to our country is a source of pride and inspiration for all of us. Veterans have not only defended our nation but also exemplified qualities of courage, dedication, and selflessness, which are essential values we aim to instill in our students.
Many of you attended special ceremonies in our schools over the last week. We appreciate your presence so very much. Your experiences and stories serve as valuable lessons and sources of inspiration.
We honor you not only on this Veterans Day but every day. You make us very #TangiProud!

Stay on the Path to Class
As we prepare to take time off from school Nov. 20 - 24 for Thanksgiving break, we are grateful for everyone who has helped to restore a routine for showing up to school while supporting students and families.
Daily routines are essential for reducing stress and creating a sense of security for students and adults. Please take steps to keep your child healthy and send them to school unless they are truly sick. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to learn as well as connect to peers and their teachers.
We thank:
- Our students and their families who do their best to show up to class every day even when it isn’t easy.
- Our teachers who have gone above and beyond to help make school a welcoming learning environment where students can thrive.
- Our administrators who help us work together to ensure we are healthy and safe, feel a sense of community and experience the excitement of an engaging learning environment.
- Our many, many healers and helpers - the support staff and community volunteers who provide the extra hands and attention our children need.
May these days off be restful and healing.
We look forward to seeing you again when school resumes on Monday, Nov. 27, 2023.

Could missing too many days be bringing your child's grades down?
There is a direct correlation to student performance and student attendance. Monitor your child's academic progress and help them to keep up with missed assignments when they do have to miss classtime. Make sure teachers know how to contact you.

NATIONAL STEM DAY IS NOVEMBER 8 EACH YEAR
National STEM Day is on November 8th and celebrates science, technology, engineering, and math throughout the United States. It's a great day to celebrate because we know that an interest in STEM early on can lead to success later on in life. Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) occupations are projected to grow over two times faster than the total for all occupations in the next decade according to the U.S. Labor Department.
| |
What does STEM stand for? STEM stands for a grouping of four overlapping disciplines: science, technology, engineering, and math. The acronym is commonly used to summarize the education approach that unites the disciplines into one structured program.
