Community Engagement Event
As a community, the greatest impact that we can have on our collective success is to ensure that every one of our young people graduates with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the future. It will take all of us - students, families, educators, staff, and community members to make that happen.
This is why we invite you, our TPSS families & community members, to attend one of our Community Engagement Events to listen, learn, and engage in productive conversations as we work together to create our strategic plan to place into action for the upcoming school years.
Let's work together to make sure all our voices are heard and all our hopes and dreams for our children and community are realized.
Upcoming Dates & Locations of Community Engagement Events:
Feb. 27 @ KHMS - cafeteria
Feb. 28 @ JSHS - tba
Feb. 29 @ AHMS - tba
March 13 @ LHS - tba
March 14 @ PHS - tba
The doors open at 5:30pm. The meeting is from 6-7:30pm.
All of our events will cover the same topic. We are offering a variety of dates and locations, to reduce travel time for our families.
Read our current TPSS Strategic Plan to gain insight into the purpose and priorities of having a plan. If you have any feedback or input, that is the purpose of this meeting. Help us to create our next strategic plan for our school district by engaging in the building process. We hope to see you there!

SOCIAL EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING | |
HONESTY
is being truthful in what you say or do.
It’s not always easy to be honest in our words, actions, or thoughts with others or with ourselves. Practicing honesty with ourselves allows us to identify emotions, be aware of our emotions, regulate emotions, and advocate for our emotions.
You can carry this theme into the discussions you have at home during time with your family.
Conversation Starters:
- Share how being honest with ourselves can help us to be more confident, calm, or focused.
- What changes could you make if you are aware of your negative feelings or emotions during your day?
- What is one way you have communicated how you feel and what you need this week?
Speaking Prompts:
- A time I (or someone else) showed honesty was _____.
- It changed / challenged me because _____.
- It made me feel _____ because _____.
-taken from Character Strong Curriculum
"The time is always right to do what is right."
~ Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Find Your Balance
Burn out and fatique is real. It is important to balance your busy schedule with time which allows you to rest. Your mind and body needs time to relax, unwind, and reset. Follow some of these tips to ensure that you are being kind to your mind.
✔ Prioritize: Identify your most important tasks and responsibilities, and focus on those first. This can help you allocate your time and energy more effectively.
✔ Schedule: Use a planner or digital calendar to schedule your time. Block out periods for work, leisure, exercise, family time, and self-care. Stick to your schedule as much as possible to maintain balance.
✔ Set boundaries: Learn to say no to commitments that don't align with your priorities or that will overwhelm you. Establish boundaries around your time and energy to prevent burnout.
✔ Practice mindfulness: Take time each day to be present and mindful. This can be through meditation, deep breathing exercises, or simply taking a few moments to appreciate the moment.
✔ Delegate: Don't be afraid to delegate tasks when possible. Whether it's at work or at home, sharing responsibilities can lighten your load and create more balance in your life.
✔ Take breaks: Schedule regular breaks throughout your day to rest and recharge. This could be a short walk, a coffee break, or just a few minutes to stretch and relax.
✔ Stay organized: Keep your physical space and digital files organized to reduce stress and increase efficiency. Being organized can help you feel more in control of your life and better able to manage your time.
✔ Make time for hobbies and interests: Schedule time for activities that bring you joy and fulfillment, whether it's reading, gardening, playing sports, or spending time with loved ones. These activities are essential for maintaining balance and preventing burnout.
✔ Exercise regularly: Physical activity is not only good for your body but also for your mind. Incorporate regular exercise into your routine to boost your mood, reduce stress, and increase energy levels.
✔ Get enough sleep: Prioritize sleep and aim for 7-9 hours per night. Quality sleep is crucial for overall health and well-being, and it can help you better cope with the demands of a busy life.
Remember, finding balance is an ongoing process, and it's okay to adjust your approach as needed. Be kind to yourself and give yourself permission to prioritize self-care and balance in your life.
