It is no secret that anarchists worldwide strongly oppose any idea or company that they deem to be engaged in "capitalistic exploitation." Arson is often a preferred method of attack and their targets are often large corporations like large grocery chains, private and public security corporations, or construction companies, but more recent attacks have indicated an escalation of targets, as seen in France where targets have become telecommunication and public utility infrastructure.
In a span of 36 hours in the beginning of April, the city of Crolles in the Isère valley of France saw significant arson attacks on the area's infrastructure. On 03 April, an RTE substation was set on fire, targeting STMicroelectronics and the perpetrators left behind anarchist symbols as well as a statement denouncing the excessive consumption of the STMicroelectronics. A little more than 24 hours later, nine power lines, including a 225,000-volt line were set on fire, disrupting service to more than 5,500 customers. This second arson attack highlights the escalating actions of anarchists throughout Europe, as well as the size, scale and sophistication of each claimed attack.

It is important to note that the Telegram channel that released the 11 April video entitled, 'Bloodlust,' regularly creates technologically advanced content for the purpose of promoting accelerationism and violence. However, the channel serves more as a media outlet for everything racist and right wing rather than just a mere Telegram channel. Beginning with the traditional introductory scene of a couple watching as two skyscrapers crumble, this video has clear private video ‘selfie’ recordings.' This video is the second "up close and personal" video to date from the 'artist’; the first being 'Conquered Lands' that was reported last week. This video marks the second extreme escalation of violent content and to reiterate the alarming meaning behind this, if the video was not filmed directly by the 'artist,' then this would signify that supporters are sending private videos in to be part of the montage. | |

FSB Detained a Right Sector Militant With Explosives

On 12 April 2022, the FSB operatives detained an alleged Right Sector militant, who resided in Moscow. According to he suspect, he arrived in Russia in January 2022 as a common citizen without any intentions to conduct any illicit actions. However, FSB operatives found explosive materials and wireless detonators near his home, along with Right Sector and Azov symbols. Investigators suggest he was preparing to conduct terrorist attacks across the state. Up until 2019, he was a Russian citizen with a Ukrainian passport and from 2016-2019, he received a NATO military training at the Yavoriv training camp (the village of Starichi, Ukraine) under the guidance of foreign instructors. | |

Unidentified Gunman Opened Fire in a Brooklyn Metro Station, Injuring at Least 13; Several Smoke Canisters were Found

On 12 April 2022 several persons were shot at a subway station on 36th Street and Fourth Avenue in the Brooklyn borough of New York. After receiving reports of smoke, firefighters arrived at the station and discovered numerous injured persons. First reports disclosed that at least 16 people were injured, 10 of which sustained gunshot wounds. There could have been more if the assailant's automatic assault rife had not jammed during the assault. Additionally, several smoke canisters were found at the scene, which were at first believed to be unexploded IEDs. The smoke seen in the released photos and videos was caused by the smoke canisters. It is likely that the smoke devices were used by the suspect to get away from the scene without being detected. The primary suspect, who has now been identified as Frank R. James, 62, of Wisconsin and Philadelphia was described as a black male wearing a gas mask and an orange construction mask, fled the scene and currently, remains at large. The fact that he wore a gas mask hints that the attack was planned in advanced. Frank James' YouTube channel may reveal his motivations for this attack. Both racist and misogynistic in nature, James' videos show him ranting against white and Hispanic people and discusses mass shooting.
