TRAFFIC SHIFTS SCHEDULED FOR I-64 IN NORFOLK NEAR
4TH VIEW STREET
Motorists advised to stay alert to new traffic patterns starting as early as March 25.
NORFOLK-As part of the HRBT Expansion Project's first phase of roadway widening in Norfolk, traffic shifts are scheduled to begin as early as Thursday, March 25.

Motorists traveling on I-64 east between 4th View Street (exit 273) and Granby Street (exit 276) can expect lane shifts towards the right to accommodate future widening work in the median. Motorists traveling on I-64 west can expect lane shifts between Mason Creek Road (after exit 274) and 4th View Street (exit 273).
To complete the traffic shift operations, crews will alternate single-lane closures in this section of the corridor on I-64 and implement brief stoppages overnight to transition traffic safely to the new lanes. Lane closures will occur from:
  • 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning Monday through Thursday
  • 9 p.m. Friday night to 7 a.m. Saturday morning
  • 10 p.m. Saturday night to 9 a.m. Sunday morning
  • 8 p.m. Sunday night to 5 a.m. Monday morning

Motorists should stay alert to new traffic patterns.
All construction schedules are pending weather or unforeseen circumstances. Please check the project website's Traffic Alerts page for updates.

Motorists should expect delays or take alternate routes. As always, motorists are encouraged to slow down, eliminate distractions and pay careful attention while driving through the construction zone.
