TRAINING DAY AND OPENING CEREMONY

Tuesday, March 14, will be a training day at Steamboat Ski Resort. In the evening, we will celebrate the official kick-off of the 2023 Freestyle Junior National Championships, presented by Steamboat Mountain School and ID One, with the Opening Ceremony at Howelsen Hill. Below are some tips to help your experience go smoothly.

CHECK-IN AND LIFT TICKETS:

If you were unable to pick up your credentials and welcome bag on Monday, there will be athlete check-in for credentials and bib pickup at the stage in the base area next to Skeeter’s Ice Rink. Welcome bags and t-shirts can be picked up in Olympian Hall at Howelsen Hill immediately following the Opening Ceremony. If you pre-ordered lift tickets, they can be picked up at any ticket kiosk at the base, open 24/7.

LIFT ACCESS AND GEAR:

Christie Peak Express opens at 8:30am for athletes. Athletes should store gear at the start or finish of the course or in the fenced area at the base on the snow by the Steamboat Sports Store. Please do not enter the Sheraton. There is no drop-off or parking at the Sheraton. Lockers and public restrooms are next to Timber & Torch and Steamboat Sports.

TUESDAY, MARCH 14 - TRAINING SCHEDULE

OPENING CEREMONY

The Opening Ceremony and the official kick-off to the 2023 Freestyle Junior National Championship begins at 7pm at Howelsen Hill! Please eat in town before the ceremony and head over to Howelsen between 6:30-7:00pm to meet your team on the south side of the lodge. The ceremony will take place outside on-snow, so wear warm clothes and boots and bring your camera! Show your team spirit—we will celebrate each team competing! Drop-off is available in front of the lodge, but there is no parking in the drop-off area. There are no dogs allowed at the opening ceremony. The evening will conclude with a Honey Stinger S’More Party around the fire pits.
