CIAC congratulates Canada’s new Liberal Government in forming the 44th Parliament and is eager to continue the important work of collaborating with all parties on solutions to Canada’s most pressing issues. The federal government has committed to the goal of net-zero carbon emissions for all of Canada by 2050. To achieve these ambitious goals, Canadians will require chemistry-based solutions.

TRANSCAER®
TRANSCAER® launches a new virtual reality learning tool
Working in partnership with Transport Canada’s Rail Safety Improvement Program, CIAC has developed virtual reality tools to support TRANSCAER outreach efforts. TRANSCAER’s virtual reality tour offers a 360° view of the retired CCPX 911 training tank car, providing first responders with familiarization and awareness of railway equipment, emergency response, safety procedures, and the transportation of dangerous goods.

The Circular Plastics Taskforce completes Phase I of Its major initiative in support of a circular economy for plastics 
The Circular Plastics Taskforce (CPT) recently completed the first phase of its efforts to implement a circular economy for plastics in Quebec and Canada. Officially launched in 2020, the CPT is a collaborative effort of organizations interested in finding concrete solutions to improve the management of post-consumer plastics.
