MEET YOU AT THE CDABO SHINDIG IN NASHVILLE
Provided by Ken Cecco, Kenneth Cecco & Associates, kcecco1@gmail.com
In our promotional industry we say “are we going to see you in Vegas?”… which we all know means “are going to the PPAI Expo?”, but the first sounds more fun. Such was the reason for the cool poster design of the
College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics for their 2019 event at the Gaylord Resort in Nashville. Because after all, ‘fun’ and ‘orthodontics’ don’t usually go hand-in-hand.
This simple case history accentuates a technique that is overlooked far too often by distributors when looking for a distinctive $20 - $30 giveaway item. It is simply using the same exact art from the event poster and imprinting it on a Beach Towel. Even more powerful is that once the use of an annual event poster is used on a giveaway item, it creates an IMMEDIATE ANNUAL PROGRAM with repeat order potential. A handful of distributors have mastered this technique and it is one of the few ways towels can be positioned for repeat continuity programs. How many times have we heard distributors say, “we can’t do a towel every year.” However, with a poster imprint they can, because the towel then becomes a traditional heirloom of the annual event, a collectible.
For the Harmony in Orthodontics event in Nashville, the towel was given away by host association, CDBAO. It was a gift for all employees and volunteers who helped and/or participated in the numerous events that took place at the Gaylord. Events such as award ceremonies, education seminars, social gatherings, network events, etc. It was part of a gift pack, featuring merch goodies in a custom bag.
HPC Global - USA Sanitizers
Provided by Ken Cecco, Kenneth Cecco & Associates, kcecco1@gmail.com
As you are aware many of the items in our business come from overseas. Here is a nice success story of a domestic line of hand sanitizers made, printed and bottled in the USA
HPC Global has been making hand sanitizers for over 10 years in their Hanover PA facility. Perhaps even better is that we have been using solutions with at least 67% alcohol which has been recommended by OSHA for years and now is the minimum standard recommended by the CDC as well.
It seems hand sanitizers will be around a while now and they are outstanding methods to help thwart the spread COVID-19 especially when soap and water are not available.
The smaller bottles that have proven to be difficult to replenish at this extreme time of need and many new alcohol producers are jumping in but please be careful. Why? Living per the guidelines of the FDA these bottles and lids need to be tested so be careful of the source you are using. Production of these items should be made within the township fire ordinances of the producing facility as they are often purchased in large volume totes that are then broken up into up into smaller bottle sizes. As you can guess the fluids are highly flammable and safety should be observed at every step.
So keep safe, keep your social distancing in play, wash your hands frequently, and masks are always a good idea.
Don’t forget made in America is a philosophy that will only grow in the coming year and HPC Global is one source of many hopefully to come.
