"It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim on our hearts, as for the subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit."
--Robert Louis Stevenson
Tour des Trees:
September 3-10

The 2022 Tour des Trees is shaping up to be a fun and engaging experience and we hope you'll plan to join us in Iowa this year.

More than just a unique cycling event, the Tour des Trees keeps the TREE Fund alive so it can pursue its mission of giving the grants and scholarships that are so important to the tree care industry.

The research grants that are now open for application are good examples of why the TREE Fund is worthy of your support: they fund research into new and applicable knowledge that applies to real life. The Safe Arborist Techniques grant supports original research that creates a safer work environment for people working in the tree care industry and the general public they serve. The Hyland Johns grant supports research that directly affects the work of industry professionals. The Utility Arborist Research Fund grant supports work with real importance and benefit to utility tree care professionals.

By fundraising for the ride, our riders are helping to further the growth of our industry, help develop and share techniques to keep arborists safe, and help spread the word about proper tree care.

Riders can choose one to 6-day ride options to fit their schedule. The ride starts in Des Moines, loops around, and then finishes up in Nebraska City, Nebraska. Hotels and meals are organized ahead of time, so all you need to do is ride and fundraise.

The TREE Fund on Social Media

The TREE Fund's strategic plan sets us on a course to expand the TREE Fund family of supporters to people who love trees, but who are not necessarily part of the tree care profession. One of the ways to accomplish this is to raise "brand awareness," and one of the best ways to do that is through social media.

Currently, you can find the TREE Fund on Facebook (TREE Fund), Twitter (@TREE_Fund), Instagram (treefund), LinkedIn (tree fund), and Tumblr (treefund). You can help us raise awareness by following us and sharing TREE Fund posts. Our posts include information about grants, scholarships, the Tour des Trees, events, news about trees and tree science, and much more. Currently, we are running a Valentine's Day-inspired series of posts on reasons to love trees.

Thank you for joining the effort to spread the good word!
