3 Month old Amazing Grace gets her new heart

Story: A new heart was needed

Grace was on the ECMO machine for about six days. Her heart was not doing well. The doctors were trying to get the infection out of her body, but it had already done too much damage.

For the next two months, Grace would get better one day and then worse the next.

She had to be intubated numerous times.

"It was just a battle," said Brittany. "We so hoped her heart would get better.".

 Exciting news!
We received word from Sen. Cassidy's office that the Senate has introduced the Immuno Bill by Sens. Cassidy and Durbin as the lead sponsors, and Sens. Whitehouse(D-CT), Young (R-IN), Shaheen (D-NH), and Ernst (R-IA) joining as original co-sponsors. This is a great bipartisan group of Senators!
"The Comprehensive Immunosuppressive Drug Coverage for Kidney Patients Act has been introduced in

Finally in 2020, it's time to ensure Medicare coverage of immunosuppressive drugs for kidney transplant patients beyond the current 36 month coverage.
YOU can join the fight by clicking on the image above to join CareDx and the coalition of groups and over 8,000 others who have signed the pledge to support their Honor the Gift campaign to gain passage of this important life saving and money saving legislation.

<<< Each year, approximately 375 Medicare patients needlessly lose their donated kidney due to a lack of immunosuppressive medication coverage. >>>
