Very Grateful Patient Reaches Out to Thank TRU Tele-Care

Thanks to TRU Tele-Care Nurse Yolanda Olvera for today's Mission Moment. Yolanda took a call this week from a patient who tearfully expressed her gratitude for TRU Nurse Practitioner Nora Keane and TRU Tele-Care Nurse Darcie Curley. The patient, new to TRU Palliative Care at the end of last week, had recently undergone surgery and was frustrated and concerned by not being able to get the medication she needed to be filled by her primary care physician. Darcie, responding to the triage report from over the weekend, called both the patient and the PCP's office and was able to resolve the issue.

If you've ever been or had a family member in a similar situation, you know how scary it can be when you're unable to get the medication you need. Thank you again Yolanda for sharing this incident, connecting us with one of the often simple yet significant measures taken in myriad ways by TRU team members daily for those in our care.
