Only at TRU Thrift: A Thanksgiving Blessing
A TRU Thrift volunteer, donor, and shopper shared the following story and image right after Thanksgiving:

Yesterday after we came in to drop off some collectibles and fragile items, I checked the last chance shelf.
The night before, after a perfect holiday meal, my neighbor dropped their beloved 80-year-old serving dish. She was in tears. On the last chance shelf, I found the exact same piece. Made in Japan. Very old. Floral pattern. Odd shape. $2.40 later, I bought and delivered it, and she cried tears of joy over the one in a zillion odds of finding it. Good job, TRU Thrift. Spreading joy.

Meet the Staff at TRU Thrift
"I love it when a customer asks for something that we don’t have on the sales floor, and I can go to the sorting room to find it for them. It’s like being Santa Claus to be able to find them just what they want!"
"I love being able to work with the volunteers to figure out the best ways to capture value from the donations. It’s really fun to learn from each other and see how sometimes making a small change can make everything work better."
"I love the people—we have such a good vibe here and it’s contagious. I greet all the customers as old friends and everyone’s happy to be here and see what’s new."
"I love talking with people when they come in to donate, catching up with them, and hearing their stories about the donations."
"Sometimes we get an item donated and we just don’t know what it is. Usually in the course of asking staff and volunteers, with all of our varied experiences we can get the answer. There was a time that we got in a metal implement with a handle that stumped everyone. It took over a year to figure it out, but a volunteer just happened to know what it was: a Victorian skirt lifter, used to lift up the edge of a ladies’ skirt while crossing the street. So unusual and so gratifying to finally get the answer!"
"I love the people—we have such a good vibe here and it’s contagious. I greet all the customers as old friends and everyone’s happy to be here and see what’s new."
