TSAHC would like to recognize
The Meadows Foundation
for their generous $100,000 contribution to the Housing and Economic Assistance to Rebuild Texas (HEART) grant program which supports ongoing Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts.
Since its inception, the Meadows Foundation has disbursed more than $775 million in grants to more than 3,000 Texas institutions and agencies. Grants have been awarded both in large urban areas and small rural communities in every Texas county.
The Meadows Foundation is among the most recognized family foundations in the country, both for its grantmaking practices and for its active engagement in advancing the field of private philanthropy. Many thanks to The Meadows Foundation for their grant and ongoing support of TSAHC.

The HEART program -- created by TSAHC and Enterprise Community Partners -- provides grants of up to $50,000 and technical assistance to nonprofits providing housing assistance to families displaced or otherwise affected by Hurricane Harvey. The HEART program is generously funded by the

Grants from HEART are available in two categories: housing repairs and programming. Organizations may apply for both, but award amounts are capped at $50,000 per organization.

Earlier this year, the National Low Income Housing Coalition released its annual "Out of Reach" report which tracks what a household must earn to afford a modest, two-bedroom fair market rate apartment. The report calls this figure a "Housing Wage."

Staff Spotlight: An Interview with Sarah Ellinor

This week we are spotlighting TSAHC's Manager of Homeownership Programs, Sarah Ellinor. Sarah joined the staff of TSAHC in December 2012 as the Homeownership Programs Coordinator. Over the years, her role at TSAHC has included managing TSAHC’s training programs for housing nonprofits, as well as educating lenders, REALTORS® and home buyers about TSAHC’s home buyer programs. Attendees participated in "Session 4: Preservation Financing and Deal Structuring Continued" in Austin June 6-7.
