New Lower Interest Rate of 4.85% for

Homes for Texas Heroes Bond Program

We're pleased to announce that our Homes for Texas Heroes Bond program now offers an interest rate of 4.85% that can be combined with a 4% down payment assistance grant.

Benefits of the Bond program:

4.85% interest rate available for a limited time only
4% Down Payment Assistance grant (FHA, USDA, VA only)
Niche product available only to Texas Heroes buying their first home
First-time home buyer requirement waived and higher income and purchase price limits available for properties in Targeted Areas
Veterans do NOT have to be first time home buyers

HEART Program Updates:

New Grantee and Upcoming Webinar

Announcing New Grantee

The HEART program, created by TSAHC and Enterprise Community Partners, provides grants and technical assistance to nonprofits providing housing assistance to families displaced or otherwise affected by Hurricane Harvey.

To date, the program has provided $1.46 million to 36 nonprofit organizations . We're please to announce our latest grantee below!

The State of the Nation's Housing

Each year, the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University (JCHS) publishes a State of the Nation's Housing report documenting the pace of housing production, cost of housing, and changing market conditions and household indices.

Released last month, the State of the Nation's Housing 2019 report's main finding is that housing production is still lagging, which means home prices and rents continue to climb due to constrained housing supply.

TSAHC Partner Spotlight: An Interview with Vivian Ballou

This week we interviewed Vivian Ballou, Executive Director of Legacy CDC, a non-profit that focuses on developing affordable housing and providing financial counseling to low-to-moderate income families in Southeast Texas.

Legacy CDC has been partnering with TSAHC through the Affordable Communities of Texas (ACT) and Texas Housing Impact Fund programs since 2013. Below is our interview with Vivian.
