Announcing New HEART Program Grants

The HEART program, created by TSAHC and Enterprise Community Partners, provides grants of up to $50,000 and technical assistance to nonprofits providing housing assistance to families displaced or otherwise affected by Hurricane Harvey.
We're pleased to announce the next round of HEART program grantees who join the
other nonprofits organizations
who were previously awarded grant funding. To date, the program has provided more than $900,000 to 23 nonprofit organizations.

apply
for grants through the HEART program. Grants are available in two categories: housing repairs and programming. Organizations may apply for both, but award amounts are capped at $50,000 per organization.

Brandon Hester

We're excited to introduce Brandon Hester, the newest member of TSAHC's Homeownership team. As our Single Family Compliance Specialist, Brandon is responsible for managing our mortgage loan pipeline, working closely with mortgage lenders across the state, and ensuring mortgage loans comply with all guidelines and eligibility criteria.
Brandon
has more than 12 years of diversified financial services experience, having previously worked for several industry leaders including Chase Home Loans, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and Accenture. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and is currently pursuing an MBA. We hope you get a chance to welcome Brandon soon!

Over the last six years, the number of rental units constructed across the country has risen steadily to match the increase in renters. In 2017, newly constructed rental units reached a 20-year high. However, that number is expected to fall slightly in 2018.

Attendees participated in "Session 5: Supportive Policy and Property Management" in Austin September 11-12. This is a recap of that session provided by Julie Gunter, Senior Advisor, Community Development at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Roy Lopez, Assistance Vice President and Community Development Officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, welcomed participants to the fifth session and applauded the important work being done by academy organizers and participants.
