Nominate an outstanding woman
The YWCA Salute to Women is a celebration of remarkable women in the Greater Lafayette Community. Consider nominating a woman who deserves to be “saluted” for her accomplishments to our community.
Social Emotional Learning in schools is about “who we are and how we want to be.” SEL is integrated in to all of our interactions with others. Social emotional learning builds on the foundation that attachment is the prerequisite for all learning and the carrier of all development. Social emotional learning appeals to a “felt sense” as the brain feels first, then thinks and learns. SEL emphasizes procedures, rituals, extreme predictability and relationships. Check out this article full of simple tips on how to promote SEL in the classroom.
How do you INtegrate?
Some staff members at Wea Ridge Middle School start the day with yoga. They say it is a great way to get centered and relaxed before the day starts.
Be sure to use #TSCINtegrate to encourage others when you tweet/post pictures of how you are integrating movement into your daily routine.
