TSC names new fleet manager
The TSC Transportation Department has named Kirk Brooks as the new Fleet Manager, replacing Steve Leman, who is retiring after 30 years of service. Brooks, who has won national and state mechanic competitions, will oversee a team of nine mechanics who maintain more than 120 buses and vehicles.

“We are excited to see Kirk step into this role,” says TSC Transportation Director Greg Haltom. “We appreciate the many years of dedicated service Steve has given to the TSC. He has always made the health and safety of our students and staff a priority. We wish him and his wife well as they retire to Columbia City to spend more time fishing.”

No doubt most of us have enjoyed these bursts of warmer weather and sunshine. Science tells us why we often feel better physically and mentally when such circumstances follow cold, gray days. I think it goes beyond science for me, though, as there is a sense of anticipation when spring is coming. Rosalie Stanley, new second grade teacher at Klondike Elementary, wrote this: "For me, spring signals life and growth and positivity." Rosalie nailed it I think; hopeful
associations attached to anything make that thing better. It doesn't have to be only spring that generates this hope, but I'm sure glad spring does just that!
