TSC hires new administrators

The Tippecanoe School Corporation is pleased to announce it has hired Megan Reynolds as the new assistant principal of Wea Ridge Elementary School. Read more.  Former Spanish teacher Gloria Grigsby will return to McCutcheon High School as its principal. She replaces John Beeker who is retiring. Read more.

TSC to celebrate the Class of 2021 Harrison High School and McCutcheon High School will hold in-person commencement ceremonies to celebrate the Class of 2021. The ceremonies will be held at the high school football fields, instead of Purdue University. Read more. 

SIA grant winner announced Students at two schools will be moving to the beat of some special drums, thanks to a grant from the SIA Foundation. Music teacher Maria Ziegman received a $5,301 grant to purchase world music drums for classes at Mayflower Mill Elementary School and Battle Ground Intermediate School. 

Nominate an outstanding woman The YWCA Salute to Women is a celebration of remarkable women in the Greater Lafayette Community. Consider nominating a woman who deserves to be “saluted” for her accomplishments to our community. Nominations must be submitted by June 21.

We are looking for more dedicated employees who love children and want to help us safely transport students to and from school. Invite friends to attend this "Arrive and Drive" event on May 22 at Wea Ridge Middle School.

Wellness requires action Consider the following tips as options for cultivating your digital wellness during summer break. Consider 24 hours, once a week, to NOT use your cell phone. If that’s too challenging, see below. Select windows of time when you put your phone completely away. Read paper books. Daydream and engage in play. Your brain needs a break from the constant noise of technology. Connect with other humans, not devices. Connection is our universal currency.

INSPIRATION MATTERS with Kathy Nimmer

That school year finish line is so close. Even if you are a year-round employee, things change pretty soon here when the final bell sends the kiddos away for the summer. It is so tempting to be glum when we're tired, yet what if we replaced "glum" with "grateful" this time? New first grade teacher Beth Ditto at BGE wrote an email to me that said, "It has been a busy week, but I am feeling blessed to call this my profession." Beth's intention to preserve the perpetually positive amid the perpetually problematic seems a fitting aspiration for late May. I wish for you a day, week, and summer full of that kind of choosing over and over again.
