TSC school safety officials updated families on security measures, programs and other initiatives during a forum August 9  at McCutcheon High School. It was also an opportunity for members of the public to ask questions and give input.

We encourage our students and staff to play an active role in school safety. Be observant and let administrators or a SRO k now if you see or hear something suspicious.

TECHNOLOGY TIP
New web filter
The TSC recently transitioned to a new web filter, Securly. The most significant change for end users relates to the use of their personal devices (smartphone, tablet, etc.) on TSC's network. While users can still connect their personal devices to TSC's Wi-Fi and use most apps, in order to use a mobile browser (Safari, Chrome), users will be required to install a security certificate on their device.

Please visit the new   Personal Device WiFi Access webpage  to access instructions on how to install the certificate for your device. Included on this page are instructions for Android, iOS, OS-X, and Windows operating systems.

As staff and students return to school and begin accessing online resources, we are bound to come across sites that should be blocked but aren't, and vice versa. To request a website to be unblocked (for staff and/or students), please use the Website Unblock Request form located in the 'Support' drop-down menu in SMART. Thank you in advance for your patience as we fine-tune the new web filter to meet our unique needs!
INSPIRATION MATTERS
With Kathy Nimmer

A recent business trip took me to Washington, D.C. for the weekend. My hotel was not far from the Capitol Building, an area usually teaming with activity, but interestingly, the weekend made the streets and sidewalks quiet and nearly serene. As I walked beside the Department of Education, listening to birds chirp and a distant train whistle, it struck me that this city at that time was a metaphor for all of us. We can be intensely engaged and sometimes even frantic when we are on a mission, but we also must quiet ourselves and disengage when that mission is not our center. Knowing that both activity and stillness are important, maybe we can learn to value each a bit more as we seek both productivity and peace.
