Starting with a "TSC State of Mind"
|
Our school year is off to a great start. Thank you to all our employees for your efforts in planning and preparing for a new year.
This year we will focus on a TSC State of Mind which includes practicing being mindful instead having a mind full. MSD Washington Township Social and Emotional Behavior Coach Deanna Nibarger explained during our kickoff celebration how adverse childhood experiences are common and can impact a person's well-being throughout life. She encourages everyone to practice mindfulness daily, have an accountability partner and support families.

The TSC continues the tradition of honoring its longest-serving educator by presenting that person with a TSC jersey, sporting the number #1 on the back. This year we have three educators who share this prestigious title: Vic Clerget from McCutcheon High School, Rex Crum from Battle Ground Middle School and George Mugford from Woodland Elementary School.
Congratulations on 41 years of service in the TSC!

The TSC raised $21,763.24 for the United Way last year. It would be great to surpass that amount this year and increase the number of individuals giving (161 donors last year).
We are a Pacesetter this year, so other organizations will be following our lead!
|
|
Our giving has gone up steadily each year, so let's make this our most generous year yet.

INSPIRATION MATTERS
with Kathy Nimmer
|
|
A few weeks ago, gymnastics held Nationals to determine medalists and national team members.
MyKayla Skinner
was competing with a mission. She had been an alternate for the 2016 Olympics and wanted one more shot at making the team. This was her first competition back in the elite world after competing in the NCAA. While her routines were not perfect, she made the national team, and her joy was unmatched. Wherever this pre-Olympic year takes her, her fierce commitment is a great reminder that the journey and the goal are equally important.
