Klondike teacher finalist for Indiana Teacher of the Year
|
The Indiana Department of Education has named Klondike Elementary School teacher Lauri Vitale as a Top 10 finalist for 2020 Teacher of the Year. She has taught for seven years with the Tippecanoe School Corporation.

Grant opportunity with Lafayette Breakfast Optimist Club
|
The Lafayette Breakfast Optimist Club is now accepting applications for teacher grants. The organization would like to help fund materials for the classroom or expenses to attend special seminars. Entries are due October 1.

SIA grant deadline approaching

The SIA Foundation is now accepting applications for its fall grants. The foundation awards cash grants to support funding of specific projects in the area of health, education and arts. Click

Public Schools Foundation grants
|
Applications are now being accepted for a Seeds of Excellence grant through the Public Schools Foundation of Tippecanoe County. Any public school teacher, counselor or administrator in Tippecanoe County is eligible for the grant program. The deadline is September 23. Learn more

Workshops opportunities with an entrepreneurial focus
|
The Purdue Center for Economic Education is offering a couple of teacher workshops this fall.
"
Teaching Economics Using Children's Literature,
" taught by TSC's Gina Boyd, will be 4:30 pm - 6 pm Wednesday, October 9 at Barnes and Noble Bookstore, Lafayette. The workshop is free, but preregistration is required by noon October 8.

TSC/LSC Health and Wellness Clinic schedule change
|
Effective November 4, Dr. Bray, MD, and Nancy Dawson, FNP, will be migrating to a weekly rotation between the North and South TSC/LSC Health and Wellness Clinics, rather than every other day.

American Fidelity Section 125 enrollment
|
All TSC benefit eligible employees are required to sign off on Section 125 (pretax health, dental and vision) every year. If you did not make your Section 125 election online, you will need to meet with an American Fidelity account manager.
All TSC employees who work more than 17.5 hours a week are eligible for ancillary benefits through American Fidelity.

The Public Schools Foundation of Tippecanoe County will hold its Cupcake Tasting Party, the culminating event of a high school Cupcake Bake Off Challenge. Teams from each of the four public high schools have teamed up with a local bakery to create a cupcake entry using specific products provided by Tate & Lyle. The event starts at 5 pm Wednesday, September 25 at Ivy Tech Community College.
