Hotchkiss School Instructor Teaches a Pulitzer Prize-Winning Novel

instructor Carita Gardiner will partner with
Noble Horizons
to offer a "virtual book club" in which participants will read the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel,

, by Andrew Sean Greer.
Less
was a national bestseller, and on the New York Times, Washington Post and San Francisco Chronicle top book lists for 2017. While telling the satirical story of a struggling novelist traveling the world to avoid an awkward wedding, it offers a rumination on time and the human heart. Christopher Buckley wrote in The New York Times Book Review, "It's no less than bedazzling, bewitching and be-wonderful."

Sharon Hospital updates visitation policy
Sharon Hospital welcomes back more visitors
Sharon, Conn. — June 23, 2020 —
Sharon Hospital, part of Nuvance Health, has updated its visitation policy to bring back more visitors. The hospital can expand visitation following safety guidelines because the campus and the region are observing a decrease in the rate of new COVID-19 infections.
“Restrictions will be lifted in a phased approach over the next several weeks to ensure high levels of safety and security for staff, patients and the community,” said hospital president Dr. Mark Hirko...

Conversations on the Green

It all began eight years ago as a means to raise money for local charities and to bring speakers of note to the Litchfield Hills. Thus, thanks to Jane Whitney and her husband Lindsey Gruson, Conversations on the Green was born.
“It was partially organic and partially planned,” says Gruson, a former
New York Times
correspondent. “A group of local people wanted to start a speakers’ series but it never quite got off the ground. As a reporter I learned that it doesn’t matter what topic you choose, there are people who have devoted entire lives to that question. Why not bring in speakers who are experts on whatever you want to learn?”

held their commencement ceremony at Lime Rock Park in order to provide special
social distancing measures.

The Salisbury Rotary Club’s 7/23 weekly ZOOM meeting Included several members of the Tulum, Mexico Rotary Club, including Aline Libassi, the Club President. Aline divides her year between living in Falls Village and Mexico and is the contact with Salisbury’s Rotary Club that resulted in SRC donating several water fountains to the local school in Tulum that had no clean water for the children to drink. There current project to apply for a Rotary Global Grant for supplies to fight the local effects of the COVID-19 pandemic was explained by Pepe Behena of Cancun.
