Access Health CT is reaching out to towns throughout Connecticut to help us reach those in most need during this critical time.  We want to make sure we can help individuals get the health insurance and financial assistance they need.
Access Health is the CT health insurance marketplace and was established under the Affordable Care Act. It’s a place where individuals and small businesses can shop, compare and enroll in quality healthcare plans—and we are the only place where Connecticut residents can qualify for financial help.

Our mission is to increase the number of insured residents… improve health care quality… lower costs… and reduce health disparities in the state of Connecticut.
Nuvance Health hospitals in Connecticut resume elective surgeries and procedures

Post-pandemic care is set with safety of patients and staff as top priority

Sharon, Conn. — May 20, 2020 — Nuvance Health hospitals and ambulatory care centers in Danbury, New Milford, Norwalk and Sharon, CT are reopening for elective surgeries and endoscopy procedures starting today as the region observes a decrease in the rate of new COVID-19 infections and in accordance with Gov. Ned Lamont’s executive order.

Staff at Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital and Sharon Hospital have been preparing for weeks to resume a limited number of elective surgeries and procedures starting with high-priority patients and those most acutely in need.

“Together as a community, our flexibility and perseverance are paying off. Our approach to COVID-19 was thoughtful, determined and deliberate. In doing so, we were able to safely provide essential surgical care despite the pandemic around us,” said Kerry Eaton, chief operating officer for Nuvance Health. “We are approaching resuming elective surgical care the same way: with thoughtful planning and a resolve to get this right. We will continue to keep the safety and well-being of our patients, their families and staff as top priorities as we resume these elective surgeries and procedures.”

From Salisbury, CT First Selectman's Office

Good afternoon SCS families,

It is with deep regret that the Salisbury Memorial Day parade has been cancelled. We hope to see you all for the parade in 2021.

As you can imagine, the Census Bureau would like to eliminate as many necessary door to door visits in the future for the households that do not reply. Attached is a flyer about how to complete the census.
There’s still time to shape the future for the Salisbury community. You can complete the 2020 Census by mail, phone or online. If your property is vacant or seasonal, you still need to reply with "0". No matter where you call home, the 2020 Census is your chance to shape the future of Salisbury. It is safe, easy and important! Complete the census today!  www.2020Census.gov
Nearly $11 Billion of Federal funding allocations for Connecticut are determined using census data.

Page Dickey Reflects on her New Garden and COVID-19 Challenges

by JOSEPH MONTEBELLO
There are gardeners and garden writers. Then there is Page Dickey who reigns supreme in both categories. Since she planted her first garden at the age 12, she has been a passionate lover of the process of watching nature work its magic, adding a soupcon of help. She contributes to that magic by creating the canvas: planning for the garden, nurturing it and writing about it.
Over the years she has written on garden design for House & Garden, House Beautiful and Elle Décor . She lectures regularly on garden design and teaches classes at the New York Botanical Garden and the Horticultural Society of New York. Additionally, she has written numerous books, including Breaking Ground: Portraits of 10 Garden Designs; Gardens in the Spirit of Place; Inside Out: Relating Garden to House, and Duck Hill Journal: A Year in a Country Garden.
Social Distance Weddings
With all that we are going through, it’s not an option but rather a necessity to keep our loved ones together. Together ‘safely’ is all of our utmost concern. Before you cancel or postpone your most special wedding celebration to 2021, take a minute to think about Interlaken. We are learning more each day about the amazing healing power of the sun when it comes to this situation and with our outdoor ceremony at our lakefront and our open-air pavilion for your dinner reception, Interlaken can offer a socially distant option for your wedding that will be safe and provide ample healthy sunshine.
Since every day seems like a Saturday now, weddings can happen any day of the week (and of course just one wedding per day). The venue will be exclusive to you and your Guests only...

ART TALKS will be hosted by Consultant Curator for The Moviehouse Studio Gallery, Tony Carretta along with different special guests, and will focus on the artists featured in the films currently available through The Moviehouse.

This week, the artist we'll be discussing is Lucian Freud.
Joining us, special guest Alexander Shundi.
One of the most celebrated painters of our time, Lucian Freud is also one of the very few 20th-century artists who portrayed themselves with such consistency. Spanning nearly seven decades his self-portraits give a fascinating insight into both his psyche and his development as a painter, from his earliest portrait painted in 1939 to the final one executed 64 years later. When seen together, his portraits represent an engrossing study into the dynamics of aging and the process of self-representation.
