Letter from the Executive Director

It’s Back to School Week! During the past week, teachers and administrators have been preparing for the school year. TSF has enjoyed visiting the schools and opening celebrations. The educators in our area are second to none!

The Schools Foundation is very excited about supporting our students, teachers, and administrators this year. We have recently received some very generous donations in support of our public schools!

I would like to extend a big “Thank You” to Blue Cross Blue Shield for awarding a grant to The Schools Foundation. The grant will be used to fund our ReCharge program.

ReCharge Our Teachers is a TSF program which includes high quality teacher training and mental health resources which are tailored to the needs of today’s educators with a focus on teachers new to the profession.

Also, a big “Thank You” to Toyota for awarding a grant to The Schools Foundation. The grant will be used to fund our Principally Speaking & ReCharge programs.

Principally Speaking Network “PSN” is a professional development program for school administrators designed to assist participants in increasing student achievement through more effective leadership practices.

These generous donations will empower our teachers and administrators! Have a great school year!

Sincerely,

Jeanne Baird Greer

NATIONAL BOARD CERTIFICATION

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED

A big thanks to the National Space Club for supporting the National Board Certified Teacher program in Madison City Schools. Congratulations to Ms. Jayna Stockwell, fifth grade teacher at Columbia Elementary School!

National Space Club representative, Terry Abel, joined The Schools Foundation to present the Madison City Board of Education with a check to help grow NBCT ranks in Madison City Schools.

National Board Certification is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education. Research shows that NBCTs increase student achievement, improve classroom management, and produce a higher return on investment for their schools and community.

WELCOME BACK, MCSS TEACHERS!

A huge shoutout to the dynamic speakers who inspired our MCSS teachers this week! Your passion has set the tone for an incredible school year!
