Golden Apple Gala!

The inaugural Golden Apple Gala was a huge success! It was a very special night for over 80 teachers in Madison County as they were celebrated for earning Teacher of the Year awards for the 2024-2025 school year. We also enjoyed hearing from our very talented Fine Arts students from across the county. Superintendents, school board members, government officials, parents of students and many more were in attendance. Save the date for the 2026 Golden Apple Gala – January 28, 2026!

MADISON ELEMENTARY HAS A “JEAN-UARY DRIVE”

During the month of January, Madison Elementary School collected jeans for the local homeless shelters in their “Jean-uary Drive.” The Peer Helpers learn skills to help them connect and build relationships with students. They offer encouragement and assistance to students facing normal challenges of being a kid.

HCS Recognizes New National Board Certified Teachers

Huntsville City Schools recognized six educators who have achieved National Board Certification.

National Board Certification is considered one of the highest achievements in the teaching profession, demonstrating an educator’s commitment to student success and continuous improvement. HCS actively encourages teachers to pursue National Board Certification through the Raise Your Hand initiative.

The Raise Your Hand initiative is made possible through a partnership between the Huntsville Committee of 100, The Creative Cities Fund, and The Schools Foundation. This initiative covers the certification fees for educators in Huntsville City, Madison City and Madison County Schools, removing financial barriers and supporting teachers in their pursuit of excellence.

The Madison County business community has played a vital role in the campaign’s success, with local businesses providing the necessary funding to invest in the future of education. Their generous contributions help ensure that more teachers have the opportunity to obtain National Board Certification, ultimately benefiting students across the district.
