May 2022
As summer gets ready to kick off, the Tigger Stavola Foundation has started celebrating early! This month, we celebrated birthdays, Mother’s Day, and the college decisions of our Student Alliance members. We’re so proud of all those involved in the Foundation, the work we do, and the many exciting things yet to come!
What's Been Happening at TSF?
A Special Note to Mothers This May
The Tigger Stavola Foundation was built by one mother and her family, working to prevent other families from feeling the loss of a loved one to addiction.

This May, we would like to honor mothers who are reading love letters from their child who is in a treatment facility, mothers who are embracing their child who is newly sober, mothers who have journeyed with their child from the depths of their addiction to the heights of their recovery, mothers who are mourning the loss of their child, and mothers who may be struggling with addiction or on the road to recovery themselves.

We would also like to honor the "mother" of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.

"A mother's love endures through all." - Washington Irving
TSF Wishes Lisa Stavola a Happy Birthday!
Lisa started the Tigger Stavola Foundation in 2013 and since then, the organization has grown within the community and reached countless lives.

We want to acknowledge the incredible work she has done to provide education and awareness about opioid addiction. Tigger’s name has undoubtedly influenced many young lives for the better.

Lisa, we thank you for turning your pain into purpose and never losing hope. Happy Birthday from all of us at TSF!
May is National Teen Self-Esteem and Mental Health
Awareness Month
May is National Teen Self Esteem Month. Here at TSF, we work hard to raise awareness of the importance of ensuring the teens in our community are given opportunities to build self-confidence and self-esteem.

Low self-esteem is a common precursor to substance use and addiction in adolescents. Improving self-image is a critical component of drug prevention and is a key part of TSF programming, including the Student Alliance and the TSF Ambassador Program.

If you have a teenager in your life, remind them of how great they’re doing. The teenage years can be very challenging, and supporting the teens in your life can go a long way!
Meet Rich Gubitosi, TSF Ambassador!
Rich graduated from Middletown South, where he played football, and attended Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Florida. He graduated with a triple BBA in Marketing, Banking & Finance, and Business Management. Rich currently lives in Red Bank where he is building a career with Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor, developing long-term, personalized solutions for his clients.

When he isn’t working, Rich likes to spend quality time with his family and friends. His hobbies include golf, paintball, fitness, volunteering, and cooking. Rich is an avid lover of arts and a contributor at his local church, St. Leo’s, helping to organize their annual carnival and teaching the youth as a Catechist teacher.

If you know Rich, you know he’s always smiling and brings an infinite amount of enthusiasm to all TSF events. We’re incredibly grateful for his dedication to TSF and his work within the community. Thank you, Rich!
TSF is on the Move Supporting the Ridge Road Run 5K!
We were proud to support the Ridge Road Run 5K for Suicide Prevention on Sunday, May 15th.

In 2018, seven students from three local high schools: Red Bank Regional High School, Red Bank Catholic, and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, decided to make a change. They came together to form the Ridge Road Run 5K to raise awareness of suicide and mental health, build a stronger community with each other, and raise money for our schools to be used for mental health awareness and educational purposes.

TSF was joined by students from Red Bank Catholic, Red Bank Regional High School, and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School, the Student Alliance, and TSF Ambassadors to support this noteworthy cause.
TSF Acknowledges Memorial Day
As Memorial Day approaches, we want to remember all those veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice serving in the military and their families. Memorial Day can be a challenging time for those who serve in the armed forces, and we send our thanks to the veterans who have served our country and those currently serving.
Congratulations to All of Our Seniors!

The Tigger Stavola Foundation would like to wish all our Senior Student Alliance members graduating this year all the best in the future that lies ahead.

You’re moving on to a new and exciting chapter in your life. Each of you has been an asset, and it has been a pleasure getting to know each of you. We hope to continue to see you, and we hope you stay involved in the Foundation.

We will always be here for you. Congratulations on your graduation!
Best of Luck Tess Demcsak!
Tess will be attending the University of Tampa where she will be majoring in Business Management. Tess was an active part of the TSF Student Alliance, and she will be missed! Below, Tess shares her experience:

“I really liked how Tigger Stavola Foundation has helped me throughout the years. There was always someone to talk to if times were tough. They also helped me get a job at Evolution Hair Salon to get my career started!”

We wish you the best, Tess!

We Are Looking for Summer Interns!
TSF is looking for interns this summer and needs your help! We're looking for high school students to assist with fundraising activities, including helping around the Red Bank office, helping spread the word about TSF to local businesses, making phone calls in preparation for the annual gala, etc. You'll have the opportunity to earn hours that can be used to meet National Honor Society requirements. This is also a great way to grow professional skills and build a resume for college!

If you're interested in becoming a TSF Summer Intern, please email Andrea LeLand at [email protected] or Carley Dietrick at [email protected].
We hope everyone has a happy and healthy start to summer. If you’re planning to celebrate college graduations, summer break, or the beginning of beach season, we hope you can be with loved ones, spend time together, and enjoy the warmer weather!
