Dear Temple Sinai Family,

We want all of you to feel that Temple Sinai is your spiritual home. When you pass through our doors to worship and celebrate with family and friends, we want you to feel safe inside. In order to maximize your safety -- and the safety of everyone who enters the synagogue -- the temple board has voted to institute a Covid vaccine requirement for our services and large events. A separate policy for the religious school will be issued in the weeks ahead.

This new policy will begin January 1, 2022. Please read the details of the policy and use the time between now and January to take any necessary actions.
Who the vaccination policy applies to:

The policy will apply to all temple members and visiting guests ages 5 and up.

How to provide proof of vaccination:

Members and guests only need to provide proof one time. TSG will maintain a confidential list of vaccinated attendees for the use of our door personnel.

Email or text a photo of your vaccination card to TSG Project & Accounting Manager Susan Hain at / (818) 422-6434. If texting, kindly refrain from doing so during overnight hours. Out of respect for people’s security and privacy, we will delete all digital photos as soon as the names are added to our list.

Already sent in proof for yourself or a family member earlier this year? If so, no further action on your part is necessary.

Don’t want to send proof electronically? Simply bring your vaccination card to the temple during office hours or before services to show to temple staff, and we will add your name to the list.

Options for those who are not vaccinated:

Those age 5 and up who are not vaccinated are welcome to attend TSG events in-person by providing proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event. If this is not possible, we invite such individuals to participate in TSG services from home via the temple streaming system.

How and when the policy will be implemented:

Beginning January 1, 2022, door personnel at our services and large events will check attendees' names against our vaccination list. If someone is not on the list, they will be asked to show either proof of vaccination or proof of a recent negative test result. Those who cannot provide documentation will be politely asked to participate in the event from home via the temple streaming system.

Masking Policy:

Please be aware that, in accordance with L.A. County’s current mask mandate, mask wearing is still required when inside the temple building.
If you have questions about the new policy, please contact Project & Accounting Manager Susan Hain at 818-246-8101 (ext 106). We look forward to seeing you at the temple in the near future.
