Hi, Mentor ! We hope you are having a great week! It's awesome seeing all of the mentor sessions being entered. We like hearing about all the activities you are doing with your scholar and especially love to hear about their successes.

If you are the mentor of a senior, you will want to check out the Lunch & Learn Webinar (link below) that our state office published recently about the FAFSA form. When it comes to completing the FAFSA, the early bird gets the worm.
Go ahead and log that mentor session now! ;)

We always need extra mentors on board, trained and ready to serve at all high schools in the county. We often have students transfer to our program from other counties and they will need new mentors.

If you know of someone who would love the opportunity to mentor one of our scholars, please have them contact Mentor Coordinator, Gina Granger, by phone at (813) 794-2134 or by email: ggranger@pascoeducationfoundation.org
If your scholar is a senior this year, you'll want to make sure you learn more about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and encourage them to complete it ASAP if they haven't done so already. Click here to watch a 40-minute webinar recorded by Marci Poston, Director of Programmatic & Professional Development Services for the Take Stock in Children state office.

This webinar will:

  • Give a brief overview of the FAFSA Form
  • Discuss the FAFSA Filing Process
  • Cover tips for mentors working with their students on FAFSA

Please note that if you are a school district employee accessing the recorded webinar on the GoToStage platform in a district facility, you might need to log in to ContentKeeper to bypass the internet filter.

Regarding #5 in the graphic below, we wanted to point out that in the state of Florida, the FAFSA form is required.
Don't miss the opportunity to sponsor and/or register a team for our upcoming annual AIM for Education event. It's such a fun event and usually nets enough funds for us to send 7 or 8 kids to college! To register your sponsorship now, click here . Thanks, Mentor , for being a fa BOO lous mentor to your scholar.
