ADVENTURE PHOTO SHOOT ENRICHES TSOC'S VAULT WITH A WEALTH OF NEW MEDIA

This spring and summer, a few exceptionally talented photographers and videographers traveled the Southern Oregon Coast to capture the essence of our unique outdoor adventure experience. Local photographers Manuela Durson, Matte Hanna, and Danny Kent Alacali were joined by Portland photographers Justin Myers and Canadian outdoor-lifestyle content creators Ken Hagen and Anton Hugo for an Adventure Photo Shoot, sponsored by TSOC.

Their impressive work is now preserved in the TSOC media vault, ready to showcase our region's unique beauty and exhilarating adventures. The photos above are just a glimpse of the treasures we've collected. Stay tuned as we continue to use them in our quest to elevate the Southern Oregon Coast as a brand that attracts diverse and adventurous visitors.

TSOC ALLOCATES FUNDS TO ENCOURAGE SUSTAINABILITY BY PROTECTING OUR NATURAL RESOURCES

As part of the Adventure Photo Shoot described in the previous story, TSOC collaborated with the Oregon Kelp Alliance to capture images at the kelp beds in Charleston. Kelp provides critical habitat for marine life, accumulates carbon, and is deeply connected to Oregon's coastal communities. Portions of kelp forests in Oregon, as well as in California, Washington, and British Columbia, are declining at alarming rates. The degradation of these ecosystems forces marine life to seek new habitats, adversely affecting commercial and recreational fishing and tourism in our area.

Aligned with our commitment to invest in projects that foster a sustainable visitor economy and preserve our natural environment and culture, TSOC funded a photo shoot of a kelp-bed snorkeling expedition. The images produced from this initiative will be used to raise awareness of the challenges facing our region's kelp forests, and to educate individuals on how they can contribute to their preservation.
